Hampton Simulcast petition
Have you guys gone over to phish.net and signed the simulcast petition? I think it's a good idea, i signed it. Sign it, tell your friends to sign it, tell your moms to sign it too. Maybe we can watch the boys after all if they do it. (i think it would be better to be in a nice big theatre watching the show on a huge screen instead of sitting around the house, don't you)?

Machines anyone? (cross-posted)
Okay, I want to know if there are any Secret Machines fans here. I have been listening to them for a while now and I'm just continually amazed by them. I saw them in NY at the Hiro Ballroom in April. They were on a circular stage (or what they call "in the round") surrounded by the audience. It was unique- it felt like I was watching some of my friends play music (except awesome). And the crowd seemed friendlier than usual too. If I had to list the best modern bands these guys would have to be in the top ten.

If there are any fans out there, then you've got to see them this fall, they are playing nothing but 'in the round' shows. I'm seeing them when they come to New York.

If you don't know their music then you should definitely check them out. They have some songs up on Myspace.

There was community dedicated to the Coventry show? Wild.

For those still paying attention, I though you'd enjoy an article I wrote right after it was over:

Denny's! Coventry!
Okay, so it took me a long time to write up my reviews. Sorry 'bout that, but Coventry was just way too emotional for me to revisit until now.

Anyway, get a greasy food take on Coventry at my latest entries for Project: Denny's and play Spot the Livejournaler!

Love and smoochies,

what an amazing experience! i just got back to Ft. Lauderdale last night after stopping in Tennessee to watch Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson and in Atlanta for The Dead and a few other stops. I thought the show was great, despite Trey being a little shakey no the first night and all the frustration getting in, once the show started the energy was there. I don't think anybody inside gave half a shit about any traffic or mud during that Down With Disease or Simple. Seeing nobody move for over 30 minutes after the house lights came on, just standing there with their lighters after Mike & Trey left the stage in tears. A moment I'll never forget.

Thank you Phish

my goodness

last night i got stuck in traffic on 91 at 8:00... the next morning at 8:00 we had moved a mile... only to hear mike come on the radio and tell us to turn around. so here i am, back at home. luckily i got out of there without a problem, but i keep asking myself if i should've stayed and tried to get in. i just don't know. i saw people abandoning their cars and walking in, but there's no way i was going to leave my dad's car there to get towed. i am so sad. i've been looking forward to this all summer. i wonder if they're going to do another show. they can't go out like this. i heard something like 50,000 people were turned away.

i don't know what to do with myself. i'm so sad.

Hey everyone. I'm leaving in less than 12 hours. If anyone gets a chance to read this, take a look for my campsite. You're more than welcome to come by, have a beer, burger, or a bowl. Or maybe all three. I can't wait for it! Here's my flag!

My name is Sean but if you find my campsite, ask for ZEUS. cuz thats my nickname.

I'm gonna be heading up to Coventry from Brattleboro VT. I'm gonna drive to the Bratt from here in Northeast MA to meet up with a friend of mine who's also going. From there, its an easy shot up 91 the rest of the way.

Anyway, here's my question:

My friend has to work on Thursday until AT LEAST 3:30, meaning he won't be in Brattelboro until at least 4:30. The original plan was to meet up in Brattleboro early on Friday morning, and then have the rest of the day to sit in traffic. However, we are now also considering leaving Brattleboro Thursday afternoon, and arriving in Coventry sometime late Thursday night.

So, should do you think we should try for leaving Thursday afternoon at the risk of getting there at like, 4AM Friday morning in desperate need of sleep, or should we get a good night of sleep Thursday night and dedicate all of Friday to the drive? I'd really like to get a good night sleep in before the obvious sleep deprivation we will encounter this weekend, but I would also like to spend some time up there just soaking it all in since this will be my first (and appearantly, last) festival. Also, for those of you who have done the Phestivals before, like in Limestone, how long did you find yourself sitting in traffic? Is 10-12 hours a reasonable estimate do you think?

Hi everyone! I leave for a bus to Maine tomorrow morning which will begin my Coventry excursion. Ahh I'm psyched! And packing...so my question is:

Will we park next to our campsite or far away? Basically, how much access to our cars will we have?

Thank you and I look forward to partying with you all.
